Today was good! I was ready to get back to lifting weights and it felt good to feel a bit stronger. On the flip side, I weighed myself and the scale hasn't budged. That is really frustrating! I listened to Chapter 9 of Kim Dolan Leto's Faith Inspired Transformation book, and it really hit home. I was reminded muscle weighs more than fat and if I'm gaining muscle, the scale won't change much. Also, muscle retains water and that could be a factor as well. I asked Kim how long I could expect the muscles to acclimate, to which she replied, "...give any new routine a full month. Muscles are 70% water, so when they are healing they are holding. Make sure you're drinking enough water and you're not overtraining." She also mentioned doing vinyasa yoga to pull out the water. Which, I have been doing, so hopefully by the end of week four I will notice a shift.
Regardless, I am going to bring my calories down a bit more, just to excelerate fat loss a bit. I will see how it goes, if it ends up being too much, then I will go back to my initial set point. Tonight's workout: Squats Chest Press Barbell Rows Steady State Cardio
