You need to workout but you also need to mow your lawn!! Well, a push mower takes care of both AND gives doubly the sense of accomishment after close to an hour in the FAT BURNING heart rate zone. I'll take that, thank you. #cutlawncutfat

50 5ks In 50 Days - Day 11

And on the eleventh day, she kept going! Man, the 5k challenge started strong. Mostly because the weather was so nice and it was refreshing to be outdoors. Then, winter decided it wanted to revisit and my trusty treadmill had the joy of keeping me accountable. This...was not so refreshing.

Fortunately, I have been blessed to be on vacation the past several days getting my mileage in, both running and walking, and even skiing one day. Again, I feel refreshed by the outdoors!

I am MOST REFRESHED by the gals also taking on the challenge. Daily, I see a post, or receive a text, letting me know their 5k is done for the day. How awesome is that?! I love knowing I'm not a lone. I love when women support one another. This motivates me and encourages me to keep going.

So with close to 56 miles under my belt, between the 5ks and just every day walking, I'm ready to go into the next leg of the journey fired up. Ready for another week of 5ks to account for my FitBit activities.

Those of you killing it every day, keep it up. I'm proud of you! We're going to FINISH THIS TOGETHER!

3rd Week, Skipped 4, Ready For 5!

Hahaha!! See this? I was an over achiever the week before last, according to Fit Bit! Yes, you read that right, "the week before last". I had a great week! All four strength sessions were completed, cardio sessions and stretch sessions. I decided to rest on Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday, I felt something coming on. I was definitely not "on point" with how I was feeling, even felt like my sugar was off. I thought perhaps my glycogen was depleted, on top of my cycle time, but I would bounce back. Then I woke up at 4am Monday morning with intestinal symptoms I need not share details of. Those symptoms stuck around for two days, disappeared and left me unable to eat anything without curling up into a ball, until yesterday.
I ate my first meal with a good amount of protein and healthy fat this morning. I have pretty much been eating things like white rice, yogurt, oatmeal, nuts and soup broths the past week, and it was still not bland enough to help my tummy. So far I am doing alright with breakfast. And I'm hopeful.

Hopeful I can get back into my routine this week and hopeful I will be able to function normally again. I'm pretty sure I either had a very aggressive stomach bug, or came into contact with some food poisoning. At any rate, here's to hoping it is behind me and moving on!

This week should look like this, and I am going to take it a bit easier with MORE restorative sessions:
  1. Four strength sessions
  2. One HIIT sessions
  3. Three LISS sessions
  4. Three stretch sessions

2nd Week 2016 Down!

Week two workouts are under my belt. According to the calculator, I burned nearly 2500 calories. This, combined with my caloric deficit, and I am down 2 lbs this week. Unfortunately, I gained five pounds over Christmas break, so I am really just working to get back to my set point. Not a huge deal, I still feel good and I'm healthy. It would just have been nice to not have fallen so far off the wagon during the break. Oh well.... ;)

On the upside, my husband and I are going to get away for our anniversary next month. Yay! For some reason this has put some wind in his sails and he is now getting back into the workout groove, which is nice. It is always much more motivating when our partner is working on the same goals! Workouts are the same this week, keeping calories about the same. Hope to see another two pound loss (or more) next week!
