Completed upper body this morning. Following two days of low carb (about 50g per day), I pre-fueled with part of a banana and 1/3 protein shake. Enjoyed the rest of both immediately following this workout:
Inclined chest press 15# 3/12
Flat flies 10# 3/12
Flat press 15# 3/13
Push ups 3/12
Bent over rows 15# 3/12
Tricep extensions 10# 3/12
Inclined hammer curls 10# 3/13
Stretching and yoga ball lifts
Glad today is a carb up day, I was feeling pretty tired and cranky yesterday evening, which I guess is to be expected.
Completed fasted cardio this morning. Short session of HIIT, but effective. No signs of passing out, good sign ;-)
Above is my landscape for the week. Yes, I am doubling up on my workouts. However, from an overall workout time, I am spending the same amount of time that I would have in one session. I am taking advantage of working out on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, with the cardio, followed by high carb breakfast. Later I will alternate weight training with yoga/stretching, as laid out above.
Alternating carb days with a fairly aggressive cycling schedule may be challenging, but I want to see what kind of results can be achieved with this philosophy. I have not tried this yet, and think the next several weeks (from now until the beginning of the year) is as good as time as any to give it a try.
