Day 24, Wk 4 of 8 Wk Challenge

2/25/2015

Slept like a baby last night, woot woot. Weighed in and worked out tonight as well. My weight is up a couple pounds due to water retention related to my cycle, but my measurements are the same. I expect to see a drop in everything next week. Fat burning is the goal, so my calories will remain lower. My goal the next week is to do cardio first thing in the morning, just to see if I notice a difference in composition change, sooner.

Workout:
24 minutes HIIT
10 minutes steady state

Last night was rough for sleep. The dog had me up at 3:30, 4:30 & 6 with emergency poo situations. Needless to say, I was quite tired today. BUT - I did workout at lunch! I did eat my alotted calories for the day, and now I am hoping for a great night of sleep.

Workout:

Squats
Bench press
Barbell rows
15 minutes steady state

Day 22, Wk 4 of 8 Wk Challenge

The rest was extended today. Unfortunately, it felt like something had a death grip on my uterus, with the beginning of my cycle. I am really surprised, this is the first cycle in quite some time where cramping was such an issue. I broke down and took extra strength Tylenol, and still felt like only the edge had been taken off. My calories remained lower with quality foods. However, I am ready to increase again, and get some lifting in. I think I may double up tomorrow. Working my cardio in, in the morning and lifting at lunch. Which means I need to get to bed NOW. Here's to getting this next week off to a strong start!

Beginning to not feel all that well today. Fatigued and achy, led to downright discomfort. Hormones. Ugh. Oh well. Ending the third week with the last rest day of this mini sabbatical from pushing it hard. Back at it tomorrow!

Day 20, Wk 3 of 8 Wk Challenge

Today was a yoga/stretch day. My body welcomed it immensely. I did not expect to be so sore following last night's workout, but I really was. The stretching was perfect in all the right places. My mind was calmed and I could feel the tension, primarily in my upper back being released. The rest of the day was spent with my kiddos hanging out and enjoying a fun meal. Then off to a roller derby we went. That was something else! I have never seen anything like that (besides a movie). It was pretty cool stuff.

Tomorrow is another rest day, possibly active rest day. I am going to hit these next five weeks hard. I want them to count for all they can! Hopefully I will have positioned myself to begin REAL training.
