Psalm 23
David was a worshiper of the Lord. See the Psalms. He was always crying out to Him and it appears the majority of Psalms were penned by David. Regardless of where he was in life, be it shepherding in a field, standing by the side of a crazy king, running and hiding for his life, receiving only a portion of the promise or stepping into the fullness of the promise - REGARDLESS of his circstances, David worshiped the Lord. Yes, he even continued to worship after his very heartbreaking mistakes as well. . John 9:31 says ...if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him. WORSHIP AND OBEDIENCE are tied together in this verse and translation, as well as GOD listening to him. Perhaps because of David's obedient heart and the worship he poured out, this is why God heard his cry and forgave him when he made horrible decisions later in his life? . John 4:24 says God is Spirit, and it behooves those worshiping Him to worship in spirit and truth. This verse is now tying back to the Spirit, which we know from yesterday, David was also blessed with. And John 17:17 states: Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. There is so much here. . I pray the Lord reveal to us what worship for Him in OUR lives looks like. What worshiping in spirit and truth means for us, in order for Him to hear us. . Have a wonderful Friday!
