Psalm 19:7-11, Psalm 119
Beginning with the first Psalm we read that the Lord's instructions (God's Words) are PERFECT, RIGHT, CLEAR, PURE, TRUE and more desirable than even the finest gold. No wonder David was given to Scripture (God's Words), if he viewed them this way. David declared the Lord's Words REVIVE, MAKE WISE, and BRING JOY.
When we go over to Psalm 119, there is so much more! Only verses 15 and 16 were laid out in today's reading, but I couldn't help but read the entire Psalm. All 176 verses of it!
Again there are actions David believed came from Scripture (God's Words)...
Revive me... v24
Life in Your Words...v37
Walk in freedom...v45
You are good and do only good...v68
Hope is in His Word...v74
His regulations are fair...v75
His commands are trustworthy...v68
A constant guide...v98
A light for our path...v105
Source of hope...v114
Joy when pressure and stress bear down...v143
The essence of His Word is Truth...v160
David says he rose early to put his hope in the Lord's words (verse 147) and he panted with expectation for His commands (Word).
Wow!! There is so much here. There is so much confirmation to rise early and be given to God's Word, to long for it and desire to know what it says. Need revived? Go to Scripture. Need encouraged? Go to Scripture. Desire joy? God's Word. Want to walk in freedom? Seek out His Word and will for YOUR life.
I pray for ANY being held back from the Word of God, those restraints be released and He in some way makes His Word available. Have a blessed Tuesday!
