My morning was a bit different today, so devotions are a little late. God had me thinking about the Proverbs 31 woman and shared some things with me...
15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household (Admittedly I have always loathed getting up early, but He has empowered me to do so) 17 She is energetic and strong, a hard worker. (I don't always FEEL energetic and strong especially when balancing relationships, home, a career, self care, but then I'm reminded of Nehemiah 8:10 Don't be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength! He truly is. He truly strengthens me when I go to Him) 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. (Strength here speaks to me of the whole package. Spiritual strength grounded in the Holy Spirit. Emotional strength provided from that foundation. Physical strength from being empowered to take care of God's temple.) 27 She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. (It feels like God always has me surveying the climate in my household. Does my husband feel connected? Are my daughters getting what they need? When I'm open God shows me where attention needs to be given. Thankfully! Resting is necessary and does not equate to laziness. I believe God knows I am useless to everyone in my life if I run myself into the ground. That's why Sundays are always a blessing to me!)
