Matthew 28
In this final chapter of Matthew, the Lord instructs in the last two verses to "...go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” One can look back and see how far Christ has caused them to grow, when reading the rest of the chapter. Faith and wisdom, replace doubt and uncertainty when it comes to questions like: how did an angel move a stone? How does a dead man rise from the dead after three days? How could one rush to a once deceased, and throw themselves at His feet without concern for all that should've taken place in the deceased body? How does a group of men take a couple womens' word they heard Jesus, He is alive and GO? This growth, this maturing in Christ comes from the last verse... BECAUSE WHEN HE HAS BEEN WITH YOU ALWAYS, we know, we grow and we go. When stones of addiction, insecurity and fear have been rolled away, being set apart begins. When life has been restored to marriages, relationships and what once appeared extinct in our lives is revived, we continue on. Each time Christ speaks into our lives and is faithful, we continue to lay down our lives at His feet, unable to do anything else but show praises. And in those undeniable encounters when the Lord speaks directly to our heart, we GO - just as the women and disciples did. We see we are now an extension of His love and mercy to others. And. We. Go. Lord thank You, thank You, thank You! We praise You for living, dying and rising! We praise You for loving, saving, justifying and sending! Thank You for always being with us, in Your precious Name we pray, amen!
