"Will you be ready?" Is the question I ask myself as I read today's chapter. Will we be ready to discern who speaks for the Lord and who does not? Will we be so connected to the Lord we are unable to be mislead? Will I be ready to be arrested, hated, persecuted and even killed because I follow Jesus Christ, as described in verse nine? Will I be ready to stand with Christ even in the event others betray and hate me because THEY have chosen to turn from Him (v10)? Will we be able to endure until the end?
Will I be ready at ALL times, not just as certain moments begin to happen, knowing well He may return for me at any moment? Will we be able to continue on in His calling for our lives, by tending to and providing nourishment for, those He's entrusted to us, rather than be caught up by the fear and pain of all described?
Lord, this can be a very hard chapter to read. It can, without Your presence and abiding peace, stir up fear. You are good. You are faithful. And You prepare those who love You. I pray we are all connected to You, prepared, and ready on a moments notice. In Jesus Christ's Name we pray, Amen ❤
