Shepherdess Rise up and PRAY. Not just pray but fast and move in FAITH. This is what arose within me as I read this morning. It piggy backs off yesterday's Fervent post. It is time to pray.
A shepherd looks after his flock by leading and guiding them along the path he knows is safe and by protecting or defending them from predators in the dark hours of the night.
Who is our Lead? Who is our Guide? The Holy Spirit. It is confirmed time and time again in Scripture. HOW do we connect and receive this provision? After all, we are not like Peter, James and John. We do not have the opportunity to be with Jesus in person, as we read today. Through prayer and fasting.
Intentionally setting aside time to pray and intentionally let go of something in order to better understand how to truly care for our families. Seems like such a small sacrifice, but oh so difficult to do with such busy schedules. We must. They need us. We need Him.
Lord help us to seek You through prayer and fasting. Help us to not be controlled by our schedules and busyness, keeping us from time with You, perhaps hindering us from loving as You need us to. Help this message reach as far as You intended. It seems like an unpopular message, but this isn't about popularity, it is about sharing Your heart, so our children and families are no longer tossed about, back and forth, between hot and cold, seemingly unsettled. Thank You Jesus for Your mercy with this reminder and Your faithfulness to show us how. In Jesus Name amen.
