Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being."
These verses are very prominent to me this morning. Who do WE say that You are? Peter was able to call Christ the Son of the living God, because God Himself revealed it to Peter. And because of this Peter was called blessed.
Lord, many of us know You have revealed Yourself to us. We just KNOW. Of course You moved and spoke to our hearts through various people at different points in our lives, but ultimately, for many of us we had a very personal encounter and experience with You. This didn't change us over night. Even Peter had his flesh to contend with in verse twenty-three, as well as in books and chapters later. However, like Peter, we will continue to be transformed as long as we continue to choose to follow You, day after day.
Like Peter in Acts, I pray we are all filled with Your Holy Spirit Who we know is a Comforter, Counselor, Advocate, Guide, Intercessor, Revealer, Teacher and Spirit of Life. Fill us Lord. Fill us to the point where our lives overflow with You and there are no places of emptiness. Thank you Jesus, Son of the living God. Amen ❤
