Matthew 13
This morning we read of the soil and seed, field and two yields, and Jesus explains. He explains the parable and aligns with Isaiah 6:9-10: 'When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend. For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.’ How often, I wonder, has this Scripture been read and thoughts went to places of relief that THEY HAD GOOD SOIL. A confidence bordering on pride. Or how often did it go the other direction and absolutely no confidence in Christ's work in their life was recognizable. Reading this, this morning, hearts can grow heavy. Let us hear, oh God. Let us understand, Lord. Let us both see AND comprehend. Soften our hearts and allow our ears to hear. Let ALL turn to You. Let all be healed. Help those you've already prepared to rise and stand in the gap, to do so for the sake of the hurting. Your mercy endures forever and You go great lengths for but one lost soul, compel hearts to move on Your behalf to go to them. In Jesus Name amen.
