Mark 9
Lord, in context, You were speaking to a man whose unbelief in your ability to help his son, appeared to be larger than his belief. He believed You COULD deliver his son from what was going on, but perhaps his interaction with the disciples' inability at the time, reinforced his doubt and fed his unbelief? And prayer. Prayer is the method by which the disciples could have helped the man and his son, according to what You spoke. Lord, first help our belief to grow and our unbelief to diminish and disappear. Seems like such a lofty request, but one You are happy to answer. Help us to pray lofty, "crazy" prayers. Help us to become disciples who HELP other's unbelief to disappear, rather than reinforce it. Lord, we pray today BEFORE we head to the voting booth. Lead and guide us. Protect our minds from influences not permitted by You. Help us to see the path that better opens the way for MORE OF YOU in our country and world. Help us to experience peace that passes understanding before, during and after our vote is cast. Regardless of the outcome, continue to empower us by Your Holy Spirit, to live in a way pleasing and honoring to You, extending Your LOVE to others through our lives. Thank You Jesus, amen
