Mark 14
This morning we read of the woman who anointed the Lord before His death. We are then reminded of the last supper, and how the breaking of bread represents Jesus' body and wine His blood (which can be odd for many, I know). We also read Jesus' soul was crushed with grief, yet He still believed NOTHING was impossible for God. Finally, we see Jesus desired the cup of suffering be removed, yet He knew He needed to move towards God's plan - UP, let's be going - He says. Lord, there was so much going on in today's reading. Thank You for so many illustrations, intended to lead and guide us. This morning "Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak", resonated most. Help us to pray. Lead us by Your Spirit and help us to pray. If our prayer life is lacking, compel us to. Stir within us an inexplicable need to pray. Help us to watch. Provide holy discernment in all situations, help us to be aware and ready to move towards Your plan for our lives, keeping us from temptation. Strengthen the body, Lord. Not just each individual body, but the entire body of Christ. Help us to turn from those things that are weakening, handicapping, and hindering the body from fully glorifying You, and helping others see YOU TRULY ARE THE WAY. Hear this prayer, God. Hear and help us to respond in a way pleasing to You. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. In Jesus Name, amen.
