Mark 1
This morning these two verses stuck out to me: Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and followed him. So he went to her bedside, took her by the hand, and helped her sit up. Then the fever left her, and she prepared a meal for them. The men were told they would become fishers of men ("people" in other translations), if they were to follow Jesus. The woman barely gets up from a fever and she's cooking a meal for the men. I read this and thought, huh, this doesn't seem to be balanced ;) Lord, help us to see You call each and everyone of us to be fishers of those You call us to seek out. Those in our lives wandering and ready to be led to You by Your Spirit. Help us to also see there is healing in Your presence. Not just that, help us to embrace whatever it is You need US, both individually and collectively, to do. Whether it is to draw people to You on a large scale, or rise up and prepare a meal for loved ones in our home. It seems what is being said here is, no task is greater than another, if it is directed by You. Thank you for the freedom to be who we are, right where we are, and Your ability to bless others uniquely through our lives in so many unique places! In Jesus Christ's Name we pray, Amen.
