John 21 - Reading in the final chapter of John this morning we look again at the Shepherd.
It was interesting that Peter went back to fishing in verse 3, and Jesus called him to fish a different way, just like in Luke 5. Isn't it always easier to go back to what we KNOW when things don't appear to "work out?"

After they caught plenty of fish, Jesus fed the disciples. Perhaps this was a foreshadow of what Jesus was going to
say to Peter when describing what love for the Lord looks like...

Feed My lambs.

Take care of My sheep.

Feed My sheep.

Seeing as we read in John 17:20, "I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message", it seems reasonable this message is for believers today as well, and we too are called to nourish young believers, look after and care for others, and nourish one another.

It seems we aren't called to go back to our old ways of doing things, but instead continue on WITH Him, FOR Him.
