Jan 28th #devo....Matthew 5, verses 1-12 are familiar. However, I was focusing on v44: ...Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. At first it may seem there are no real enemies or persecutors to speak of. Then the reminder of the pain one allowed a loved one to cause, quickly comes to mind. In the mind it may seem as though all was forgiven, but the heart may very well be holding on, preventing true Love to be shown, or prayer for the individual to take place. Unintentionally, a roadblock for God's Light and Life to flow through every part of one's being may be built up, inhibiting transformation in spirit, soul and body. This encourages me to look at places of hurt and ask God to bring true healing, empowering me to then live and pray as He sees fit, and freeing me to become the whole being He desires me to be. Be well.
