James 5
Ladies, let's pray! Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. We’ve come to the end of this particular challenge on our journey to becoming whole in spirit, soul and body! I sense the Lord whispering, between yesterday and today, “Daughters, to “win” the next challenge and the next and the next, begin on your knees, humbly praying, praising, and worshiping - BEFORE the next challenge even begins”. For in Him, we have already won! Lord, compel us to get on our knees and humbly bring our prayers and praises to you. Prayers for the next leg of our journey to be aligned with Your Word and led by Your Spirit. Prayers to be the wives You have called us to be for OUR husband. Prayers to be the mothers You have called us to be for our children. Prayers to be all that You have called us to be in order to care for those You have entrusted to us. Lord, You again remind us in the beginning of today’s chapter the folly of being focused on self and satisfying our own desires – the term “fattened” is used. You speak of fat and scrawney sheep in Ezekiel 34, verse twenty and twenty-one. Ezekiel is where the entire message of Shepherdess Rise Up began! Thank You for the reminder to lead well and to be more concerned with nourshing, quenching thirst, covering, tending the ill and welcoming the wandering in our lives, rather than ignore their needs for our wants. Thank You for being our Good Shepherd! Thank You Jesus, amen!
