James 1
Good morning! After nearly a month in Matthew we have concluded that book and are now in James. Just a loving reminder :) Verse 19...Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry...Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue [and maybe those typing fingers?], you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. Lord, help us to put our trust and faith only in You! Your Word says You will happily provide wisdom to those who ask, wholly having faith in You. Provide us with wisdom to live out these verses. Help us to listen to You and others eagerly. Help us to refrain from speaking when we need to, to honor and glorify You, to others. Help anger that may reside in our hearts and sometimes come out, be dissolved by Your Spirit. Help us to see those who are without a father. This speaks to me of You, God the Father in someone's life. As well as those without a bridegroom in their life, You, Jesus Christ. Help us to not only see, but seek the law of Your Spirit as mentioned in Romans 8, on the orphaned and widowed's behalf, and then walk or live out what we hear from You (James 1:22-25). Thank You Lord Jesus, amen!
