Psalm 13:5 we see David had confidence in God's mercy... But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. (NKJV) . On the day the Lord delivered David from his enemies and the hand of Saul, David wrote "He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me." (NKJV) . DAVID TRUSTED IN GOD'S MERCY. He knew he could place his trust in God's unfailing, faithful, love and kindness. He believed it and approached life with this understanding and even amidst his enemies and trial, he held onto it. The day he overcame his enemies, he declared it!! Are we living the same? Do we live TRUSTING God's mercy and loving-kindness are towards us? . Psalm 136 is all about God's mercy. Who remembered us in our lowly state, For His mercy endures forever; 24 And rescued us from our enemies, For His mercy endures forever; 25 Who gives food to all flesh, For His mercy endures forever. 26 Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! For His mercy endures forever. Not just mercy, but the idea that it endures FOREVER. Forever is a looooooooooong time. When I read Psalm 136 out loud, a boldness rose up. . However, when I recount all God has done in my life, and add His mercy endures forever to the end, it resonates even bolder... . I pray we gain a stronger sense of God's mercy in our lives. I pray we learn to trust in it. Maybe even carve out time and list out all the ways God has shown mercy. With each item, add "HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER". As we move closer to Christmas, what a gift this would be to all who can embrace just how awesome His mercy is, embolden in us to stand and LIVE FOR Him!
