Acts 7
This morning we read of Stephen's historical lesson on the movement of the Lord from the time of Abraham, ultimately to the crucifixion of Jesus by the religious system that had developed to that day. Lord thank you for this history lesson! We know from Friday Stephen was full of grace, power, wisdom and the Holy Spirit - he was speaking on God's behalf. He was speaking, but his audience did not WANT to listen. In fact they covered their ears and shouted, as if to ignore the conviction that MAY have been stirring in their hearts. Lord, I pray this morning we have the ears to hear what it is You're saying today, and always. I pray we do not try to drown out your voice in our lives and we are able to recognize the truth being spoken by those You have placed in our lives. Father, keep us from being a people who resists the Holy Spirit, as was mentioned in verse fifty-one. Help us to move beyond our fear, doubt and judgments and fully into the promise You intended by providing Your Spirit to us. Thank You Lord, in Jesus' Name, amen.
