Things got a exciting this morning! Paul and about 276 others are on their way to Rome, when things start to rustle up on the waters. A storm lasting about two weeks begins to beat and batter the ship the company is on. The captain goes from forging ruthlessly ahead, to listening to the instructions of Paul. What? Why? How?
The Lord shared with Paul every person on the ship would make it out fine.
It was again communicated to Paul he WOULD stand before Caesar.
He communicated this message and those aboard seemingly believed him.
The captain kept Paul and the others alive, because he wanted to spare Paul's lives when the soldiers wanted them dead.
God, thank You for this illustration! An illustration clearly demonstrating Your will, will always come to pass...regardless of the circumstances we may find ourselves in. Lord, Paul went from captive to captain of a ship, because he FIRST had a very REAL relationship with You, second a Word or vision he could hold on to, and third he placed his faith and trust IN YOU - rather than what was going on around him. Please help us to do the same!
Lord help us to look to You in all situations, not just when things get tough, and learn to trust You when You share Your will for our lives, then move accordingly. Open our understanding to the possibility that, like Paul and the other 275, other lives may very well need us to rely on You rather than be dismayed. I pray we allow our hearts to be searched today, and You help us see those areas where we are allowing the storm to speak more loudly into our lives, than You. In Jesus' Name we pray, Amen!
