This morning we read the familiar story of Paul and Silas praying and singing their way out of jail. But there is more to the chapter. The Holy Spirit actually prohibited both of them from going a couple places. They were thrown into jail because a master's hopes of wealth were shattered when one of his servants was freed by Paul & Silas. The jailer was saved, along with his family.
Lord, we all go through trials. Each and every one of us. We all have hard places where the last thing we feel like doing is singing and praying to You. In those seasons, help us to get past those feelings. By Your Spirit, stir up within us a song, a prayer, a confidence You will be with us, regardless of the circumstances. Father, for anyone fearful of losing wealth by chosing Your salvation, I pray that fear is released and true freedom is found in You. Lord, it appears You have a reason for not always going places we think You should. Help us to be sensitive enough to discern these places in our own lives, and accept You always know best. Help us to continue on in our faith and resolve to serve You, especially in the trial - when others are waiting to see how we respond. I pray we respond with FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE...love being the greatest. When freedom from the hard place is found, I pray we continue to support and encourage others, just like Paul and Silas. Thank You Jesus, amen!
