Acts 13
Dear Lord, this morning You have shared yet another history lesson. Similar to Acts 7, when Stephen shared Your history. Today we read Saul (who became Paul) sharing this history. Like Stephen, Paul is now full of the Holy Spirit and speaking in ways that infuriate and ruffle the feathers of those around him unable to believe. It is ironic, or perhaps simply an observation, Stephen's cloak was thrown at the feet of Saul - and he stood and watched Stephen die. Now, Paul has picked up the same covering spiritually, and communicating the same message, also being met with resistance. But the end of today's chapter states the believers were FILLED WITH JOY (also the same wording used to describe Stephen). Lord, I pray we too are so filled with joy and the Spirit we continue on in whatever manner You lead us. Help us to see, the Words and actions spoken and lived out through us (like Stephen) matter, even when it may look like it doesn't. Help us understand those words may be preparing the hearts of someone ready to accept Your forgiveness and believe, making them right with You (like Paul). Help us to not be the judge on who is worthy, but only be the vessel by which You reach others. In Jesus' Name, amen!
