1 Corinthians 6
Good morning! Reading today, again, left me feeling a bit uncomfortable. As I read Paul's tone to the Corinthian church (NOT to unbelievers) I wondered if he read or had ever recited Ezekiel 34. It's obvious the church and folks at Corinth had some major challenges with accepting the truth that their bodies were created for God and to be given to serving Him in all ways, once they were made right with God (1 Cor. 6:11, 13) Where was Paul's compassion and grace?
Lord, You're Word can be challenging sometimes. But thank You for not allowing us to walk away simply because we intellectually disagree. Thank You for helping us to see we ARE THE TEMPLE IN WHICH YOU RESIDE. You do care about our bodies. You are concerned with how we treat and use them. Lord, if there are ways in which we are treating our bodies that does not align with Your Spirit within us, please show us - perhaps with the same urgency Paul had at Corinth. This urgency does come from a place of compassion and love, for each of AND those around us. We are to be a reflection of You once we are made right with You, not a continuation of a life long forgiven and washed away. Help us to make this so and thank You for opening Your Word. In the Name of Jesus Christ, amen ❤
