1 Corinthians 13
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!
More than just words shared in my husband and mine's wedding, or framed in art upon my walls. Love is the first thing I noticed to be the common thread for life, and the first I studied diligently when rededicating my life to Christ. It's deep and stirring, yet simple and direct. Love helps to see the condition of one's heart from the fruits in their life, and motivates to extend compassion when the fruit seems bitter, or when branches are bare - to love anyway.
Lord, thank You for Your constant reminder to Love. I pray we ask ourselves in every situation, from a jarring post, to a hurtful glance, to an uncalled-for remark, "God, how do I love YOU and love THEM, in this moment?" I pray when Your Spirit lovingly shares, we lovingly and willfully follow. Thank You Jesus, amen ❤ok
