Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]—blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he.
This isn't another devotion for the day. This verse and commentary on it were right beside my devotion Scripture yesterday. I read it and re-read it throughout the day. I also listened to a sermon from this past Sunday's service, and wouldn't you know - having a vision was also brought up. It is very clear to me, this is where God needs me to focus my prayes right now. I believe clarity is just around the corner. The first day of the social media fast was not that bad. Honestly, I feel a bit of relief. I'm not exactly sure why, but it just feels good. I realized yesterday I have been on some form of social media for over five years. Granted my activity ebbed and flowed, but knowing it has always been there causes me to pause and reflect. It causes me to ask the question...What do the next five years need to look like? Based on my devotions this morning, aligning my life to God's Word and what He says about my life - I will experience peace, be more merciful, gracious, giving and my children will be blessed. Yes, I will fall, but He will be there to uphold me. That is something to be excited about!
