activities of great value to them. This is why I truly cherish Wednesdays, as does the rest of my family.
This morning we all woke up ready to start our days, but eager that it was Wednesday and we were able to enjoy one another in our home tonight. Both daughters mentioned, in separate moments, how much they enjoy our Wednesday evenings and look forward to them. I am so happy they view these evenings as a sort of haven to cherish in their lives. I hope this practice is so impressionable, they are able to take it with them as they grow into adults, and remember to keep as part of their lives once they are living life as they are led to. Speaking of being led, this morning’s devotion meant so much to me. 1 Colossians 2:6-7 reminds me to be led by Christ, and to grow in and be strengthened BY Him. It meant so much to me because my morning started with taking our new pup out in 47° weather and being kissed by the brisk air of dawn while I waited for him to do his deeds. I looked up at the stars and realized how nice it was to step outside first thing in the morning and be reminded of God’s goodness. As the morning continued I realized I forgot my devotion. Rather than moving on with the day, I took ten minutes to sit down with the Scripture and see what needed to be read. Key words standing out boldly “….LET Him lead EVERY step, GROW, get your STRENGTH from Him…” This timely reminder keeps everything in perspective for me. God is looking out for me. He knows what I need to keep in the forefront of my mind. While I am focusing on growing and becoming stronger physically, He wants me to be aware growing stronger in Him, as He leads me, is most important. I view this as logical, considering the recent training studies I have been reading through have discussed the importance of building opposing muscles equally and proportionately, to achieve balance and well-functioning body. Building strength spiritually and physically, allows for a more balanced and proportionate ME, rather than being lopsided one way or the other, allowing one area to suffer. The narrow walk comes to mind – being led by Him in EVERY step is what keeps me from falling into the ditch. Is that not good? Tomorrow I continue on with the lifting pattern I shared yesterday from my Food & Workout Journal. This weekend we will be celebrating becoming the parents of a teenager! HOLY COW! Really? Time flies, and my spare time will be spent planning and preparing for an evening that will mean the world to her. So until next time, enjoy your day and the rest of your week!
