Bacon wrapped prunes, spring salad with candied pecans, chicken, feta and cranberries, along with stuffed mushrooms made the evening feel like a culinary event - and quite pleasing for my guests :)
Last night was Girls Night! I told the ladies I honestly don't think I have had an all girl get together that didn't involve Tupperware, Home Interior Decorating, Pampered Chef, or Make up and Spa Goods in about twenty years. This get together is yet another thing on my list of things to begin and continue to do. For years I have been challenged when it comes to establishing and maintaining healthy relationships with women. By healthy, I mean Christ-centered relationships that both edify and challenge the both of us, which is what we both desire.
The evening was wonderful - chit chat, laughter, stuffing our faces, a good faith-based film our teenage daughters could enjoy with us, and just all around good "girl time". It brought joy to my heart to hear the laughter, share the hugs, and know everyone felt a little lighter when they left my home. I definitely want this to be something I continue to do on a regular basis. It feels so good to nurture others and know our hearts are all in the same place.
On a different note, this weekend is BUSY - yet relaxing. Enjoying art, good company, music and volleyball. Of course, planning and prepping my meals for the week will take place tomorrow, along with getting ready for this week's devotions, and having my exercise inked into my calendar. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
