Sneezing, coughing, headache – BLECK! I spent all of Saturday and Sunday sleeping (wait, I did manage to get some chicken cooked and broccoli semi-steamed). I really felt like it could have been the flu or something, so I nipped it in the bud right away and went to the doc on Monday. She too felt it was influenza and possibly strep so she tested, to our surprise it was neither! Yay! So I picked up some Claritin-D per her recommendation and worked out! With just over five weeks until the Spartan, I really cannot afford to miss my workouts. PLUS – more importantly – I am determined to stick with my goals of executing my fitness and nutrition plan 100%. I was happy to report to my coach yesterday, I have been 100% compliant on both fronts, and my excitement really grew! Pumped and ready to take names, I headed off to my Doc (yet again) for a follow-up visit for the spots she looked at a few weeks ago (and the lovely annual exam, yes, I sometimes willingly sign up to torture myself). not be purple. What the H-E-DOUBLE-HOCKEY-STICKS?! I keep calm, thinking it’s nothing, when she proceeds to tell me she is sorry, and feels like she is the bearer of bad news, and I wasn’t supposed to come back in like this. Hmmm…..should I be concerned now? We proceed with the exam, ship shape. The nurse comes in to help numb the spots, so doc can totally excise the misbehaving cells – not what she had planned to do. Let me tell you, I have had two children without an epidural and the pain and sting of the needle and solution she injected me with, was right up there with the pain of having my both my girlies! I was cringing. An hour, twelve stitches (five and seven respectively), and feeling the pain of her stitch me up later, I was walking out of the office.
