What is happening?! I have been sort of MIA for the past several weeks. Since Thanksgiving I believe. There has been so much going on. Work has been crazy. The kiddos have both had things going on, with a couple bouts of illness in there for good measure. All in all, things have been shaken up and the one thing that has remained constant has been my diet and sometimes exercise.
While I am happy with keeping my nutrition clean, I am going to take it up a notch the next month. I started the Whole 30 challenge today. The only real change from what I have been doing is removing grains and dairy, and not giving into the sweet treats I was having from time to time - especially with all the Christmas goodies I have been making with my girlies. I am going to do this for 30 days, hence the "Whole30" :)
The awesome part? I get to really focus on the nutrition side of things AND exercise for the next two weeks, due to my Christmas and New Year break. So sixteen of the thirty days will be without the stress of work added to the mix. The last thirteen will be a good transition period of finishing up the challenge, while getting back into the groove of work and determining if I want to do another challenge after a weekend break.
Today was day one. My biggest challenge is my sweet tooth! I always want something sweet after I eat. Fortunately, I have discovered La Croix flavored water and it seems to do the trick. Tomorrow may bring new challenges, but I am hitting the gym first thing. Ready to start this vacation off right!
