His vision for my life, but I needed to make sure it was Him entrusting what I sensed was a ministry, rather than me trying to create something from my own efforts. Shortly after my blog post “Lord, Lead” and following four weeks of asking God to paint a clearer picture for me, I then stood back from social media for a few days – and He clarified.
It first began with a conversation between my husband and me – a good discussion, questions and brainstorming confirmed for me he supported continued efforts in allowing this ministry to become what it needed to become. Second, I sat with my daughters. Without even asking the question, they immediately expressed they loved what was being done and that I needed to continue on. They shared that they knew I loved God, loved them and their dad, and I notably loved serving the ladies and others God had been establishing connections with. I also sought the feedback and input of some dearly loved gals in my life, who also expressed I needed to keep going. My heart was overjoyed. Finally, all was confirmed to continue on and begin to go even further, with a message God shared on Mother’s Day, via Times Square Church.
The message of women rising up was again repeated. This message began to take shape during the first challenge, it was reinforced two weeks into the second challenge, and was confirmed one week ago. With that, I absolutely couldn’t ignore God had a message to speak through my life, to encourage, edify and support other women. This is the message you saw over the weekend, as I updated various social media platforms. This is the message God has inscribed upon my heart and mind. Can I tell you? Next to gaining a clear understanding of what ministering to my husband and children should look like, I have never had something articulated so clearly and in such a solid manner. It has truly fueled the flame of God’s Spirit within me! And it was noticed straight away…
When I asked my dearest friends for feedback, I faced personal resistance from folks one wouldn’t imagine they would. I was also flat out ignored, which hurt my feelings, but didn’t deter me from pressing in. I received bad news about a loved one, and worse news about close friends. All of which could have caused me to be upset and perhaps even spiral into negative emotions – but this newfound resolve caused me to rise up on THEIR behalf. Finally, I was down and out sick, tired, and seemingly out of commission because of a virus/bacterial combo infection. But this life-giving passion compelled me to fight through it and write out what I sensed was the first step of many, to helping others grab hold of THEIR OWN VISION FROM GOD. This is why the S.M.A.R.T.E.R. Goals with God Guide was created. After it was completed and sent out, I oddly began to feel so much better. Hmmm…can you say something might have been trying to thwart God’s plan?
The guide/idea will undoubtedly evolve and take on whatever shape and purpose God needs it to, just like this site. I simply need to continue to follow through on what I sense God needs to partner with me to do. I do know, there will be more focus on serving others, and less about me – which is also a shift in focus you may have picked up on over the weekend. Sure I’ll continue to blog and share thoughts, but the focus is more about helping you, and others like you, to really grab hold of God’s vision for your life and come along side you as you do your best to live it out – in spirit, soul and body.
Is this stretching me? Will the process stretch you? Yes. Is it getting me outside my comfort zone? Will you move outside your happy place? Absolutely! Part of what I see taking place in my life are more video posts touching on the characteristics of SMARTER goals with God, as well as devotions. I envision adding to our private Facebook group, so other women can have a place to share ideas and prayer requests. I sense new ways of communicating this message of rising up will begin to take shape, and it sort of leaves me feeling all squirmy inside (you might feel this way when contemplating what you think God is calling you to). But we can trust God to do what He needs to do through us. I am so passionately excited about abiding in Him as a result, I know He will be glorified and other lives will be touched.
Have a wonderful week, thank you for all who continue to pray, and please feel free to comment if you would like to connect, or would like to share how God is moving in YOUR life.
Hop in the car and go for a little drive - just to drive. Remember when that was sometimes the ONLY entertainment? That was sometimes the ONLY thing to do? I know you're busy, I know there is much to do. Be encouraged to press "pause" for a moment, drive your kiddos nuts and simply take them on a journey in the country, sharing some tunes from your times, laughter, and stories. #havefunmakingmemories :D
